The Ultimate Bee Fit Detox Soup!
If you are looking for a great way to slim down and feel more energetic, then try this amazing soup, which I have found keeps me feeling less bloated and more energetic throughout the day. This recipe calls for using lots of assorted vegetables that are proven to help you feel fuller longer between meals while helping you stay healthy. Here is the recipe, modified from Dr. Mark Hyman's Fat Melting Soup posted in the February 2nd issue of Women's World and using a few of the ingredients from Dr. Fuhrman's GOMBBS principle, which is to include as many greens, onions, mushrooms, beans, berries, and seeds to your diet to help prevent disease.
My Ultimate Bee Fit~ Detox Soup!
~ 1/2 cup of chopped avocado ( lots of healthy fats and magnesium!)
~ 3 cups of Baby Spinach
~ 2 cups of Baby Kale
~ 1 1/3 cup of chopped Spanish Onion
~ 1 cup of chopped zucchini
~ 1 cup of chopped carrots
~ 1 cup of chopped, seedless cucumber
~ 1 cup of shredded red cabbage (cabbage delivers lots of vitamin K!)
~ 1 cup of assorted mushrooms (shiitake and baby portobello)
~ 1 TBSP of ground ginger ( helps eliminate bloating! )
~ 1 TSP of flaxseed
~ 1/2 TSP of red pepper flakes (optional- I use more because I like it very hot :-))
~ 2-3 cloves of garlic-minced
~ Any additional seasonings such as ground pepper. Avoid adding salt if you can!
~ Water ( depending on desired consistency- approximately 6 cups )
Add all the ingredients to the blender and add water safely to the line that says is maximum quantity allowed on the blender. DO NOT GO OVER the line or be sure to read the directions on what the capacity levels are on your blender! Blend on high until desired consistency. If the mixture is still too thick, you can always add water to the pot when heating the soup on the stove. Let the soup simmer on low for about 40-45 minutes or until hot.
