I’m a mom, a wife, an avid runner, and a former fashion buyer. I have been active over the years in charitable organizations focused primarily on hospitalized children, mental health, and gardening. You can probably guess that I am like most of you- trying to juggle my various roles while handling life’s unexpected challenges and detours.
Over the years I have developed a strong belief in the link between a healthy body and mind. Running 50 miles a week and competing in local road races has built a physical strength that has powered my confidence. Eating raw, organic and nutrient-rich foods has bolstered my energy and reinforced positive thinking. In mid life I have never felt more inspired to tackle new challenges.
With three grown children, I have decided to share my knowledge and experience with nutrition, fitness, and life through a new business as a health coach and writer. I have studied with New York’s Institute for Integrative Nutrition, the largest holistic nutrition school in the world. I was trained in more than 100 dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods. I completed courses through GMP Fitness on the prevention of running injuries and on longevity. I am also a certified personal trainer through the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) and have had the opportunity to meet and spend time with the renowned Dr. Joel Fuhrman at a nutritional retreat in 2016. I have taken courses on mental health from John's Hopkins' online school, and most recently a specialization course on Integrative Therapies and Medicine through University of Minnesota. Currently, I am in the process of earning my Plant Based Nutrition certification through Cornell University's online program. I received a B.A. in philosophy with honors from Hamilton College in Clinton, New York.
