After a week long stay in Aspen with the renowned Dr. Joel Fuhrman and the Nutritional Research Foundation, I am finally home. There are many foods that support heart health, but one of the nutrients that is most important to maintaining healthy cardiovascular function is Omega-3 fatty acids. An excellent source of Omega-3s is fish – fish is low in saturated fat and is high in Omega-3s.

Good news for the avocado lover! New research published in the Journal of American Heart Association (http://jaha.ahajournals.org/content/4/1/e001355) has found that eating an avocado a day as part of overall healthy diet in omega 3 fats, may help lower LDL, the bad cholesterol.
